![]() There are many challenges facing the church today. The sinful morals and attitudes of the world have greatly influenced the church. We are fighting both liberalism and anti-ism from within. There are always the problems of hypocrisy, envy, discouragement, indifference and neglect among church members. Such challenges are not new. The first century church faced the same. Much of the New Testament was written to churches, Christians and ministers to help them meet these challenges. We, too, can learn how to successfully face these same challenges as they appear in our day. In our efforts to deal with the challenges before us, it is important that we do not lose sight of the greatest challenge of all: Getting to heaven! If we fail in this regard, everything else is for naught. Reaching eternal life is our ultimate goal! Keeping this in view will help us conquer other challenges that might prevent us from arriving at home with the Lord.
Our greatest challenge of getting to heaven gives us purpose. All that we do has a new and greater meaning. Now, it’s all about souls. So many times, we forget what the church is all about. Our mission is to make disciples of all nations. Our greatest challenge of getting to heaven gives us power. Nothing strengthens, encourages and comforts like the thought of being with God for all of eternity in heaven. We can endure anything knowing that it will not last forever and that God has something wonderful in store for us. The greatest challenge is impossible for us to win alone, but with God we are more than conquerors! Take the challenge. Trust Him with your soul. "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' Amen." (Matthew 28:18-20)
