Yes, God encourages us to come to Him for all our needs. He promises to listen to us when we ask and He promises to answer our requests. He gives generously and will never scold us for asking. You can always count on Him for every good and perfect gift. Read it for yourself in the Bible: Matthew 7:7-11; John 14:13; Hebrews 4:14-16; James 1:2-5, 16-17; 5:16-18; 1 John 5:14-15. Some of you may be wondering, “Why, then, do I not see this in my life? Where are God’s blessings?” The problem is never with God. It is with us. Open your heart to this teaching from James 1:5-8. Don’t think you are going to get anything from the Lord…
If you are doubting. Genuine faith is essential to receiving God’s blessings. Do you ask, “Where are you God? Do you hear me? Have you forgotten me? Do you still care about me? Can you really help me?” Or, will you say, “I believe you God. I trust you God. I surrender to you God.” You cannot continually waver in your faith and think you will receive anything from the Lord. If you are double-minded. God’s blessings are for those who have their heart set firmly on Him. Have you made up your mind about God? Have you given your whole heart to Him? Is it your single-minded purpose in life to glorify Him? Or, do you vacillate and still question God? Is your heart divided and do you find yourself still holding on to the world? For whom or for what are you living? You cannot go on “straddling the fence” and think that you are going to get anything from the Lord. If you are unstable. Those who are firm and steady in their walk with God will experience His blessings. Is your faith founded in the word of God? Are you standing upon His promises? Do you have an enduring commitment to follow Christ? Or, are you constantly wandering off the path of God? Are you being tossed here and there, listening to the many other voices of the world? Are you teetering on the sinking sand of the lies and deceptions of Satan? You cannot be so inconstant in your ways and expect anything from the Lord. When God sees you are convinced about Him, truly trusting Him, and obeying from your heart His commands there will be no way to stop the abundant flow of blessings that come from Him. Oh, you will not always understand everything. You will always have questions to bring to Him. There will be many trials to bear in this world. But, none of that will matter because you will know Him and you will be so blessed by Him, now and forever. Go ahead and check out some of these verses: Matthew 21:22; Mark 11:24; John 15:7; 1 John 3:22. "Praise God from whom all blessings flow..."
