God, our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. We lift Your name above all others and seek only Your glory. We praise You for Your daily blessings, Your care and watch over us all. We thank You for the salvation and hope that is found in Your Son Jesus Christ, for Your tremendous love for us in sending Him and for the sacrifice He made for us. We are also grateful that You have brought us all together, those of us from every race or nationality, from every place and language, from many different backgrounds, to make us one in the body of Christ, Your church, bound by a common faith and love for the Lord Jesus. It is with real and sincere concern that we pray for unity in our nation, in our states and in our cities, in which we all live. We pray for our national, state and city leaders, our mayors and city councils, our city courts, and law enforcement in their difficult tasks, and we are grateful for their sacrifice and service to our cities, states and nation. God give them Your wisdom and strength to lead us towards greater unity, and that we may have peace and order, safety, and justice for all. Bring prosperity and hope to those who have lost it or have never known it. Bring help and healing to many who are hurting, whose hearts and lives are torn. Bring the love and grace of Jesus to every community among us. Call our nation, states and cities to humility and repentance, to turn and call upon You, to seek Your forgiveness, Your healing, Your deliverance, and to trust You in everything.
And finally, Father, give us Your children, the heart of Jesus to reach out to one another with His love and compassion; to show His grace and mercy towards all; to serve as He served; to be a friend of sinners; to love even our enemies, to pray for them, to bless them, to do good to them. Remove hatred, bitterness, envy, prejudice and pride from our hearts. Help us to realize that our battle is spiritual, not carnal, that what our cities need more than anything else is the good news of Jesus Christ! And, help us to rest in the confidence that there is victory in Him, in whose name we offer this prayer. Amen.
