Our elders issued the letter below on Monday, April 27, 2020 explaining how we will be resuming our services.
From your elders:
1.As of Monday, April 27, Governor Abbott announced churches are allowed to meet in their buildings for worship. The CDC recommends those who attend wear masks, gloves, and observe social distancing regulations. The CDC suggested that adults aged 65 or older are the most at risk and they should use wisdom and prayer to decide when it is best for them to come to worship. Anyone who has a serious medical condition, like heart disease, diabetes and lung disease are also at higher risk. They, along with any who have a cold, a cough or fever should stay home.
2.Look on our website, www.northwestcofc.org to learn about available online bible classes. Check with the church office to learn about your opportunities for study and worship.
3.Again, If you have concerns about coming to worship right now, please use your own best judgment to decide upon when you can attend our worship services again.
4.Each one of us needs to continue our generous giving during this difficult time. We are currently under the budget. Our giving is needed to meet the fixed expenses and work of the church.
Below is the plan the elders intend to follow as we get back to our normal assemblies:
1.MAY 3: We will assemble, in the building, for worship at 10:00 A.M. We ask those who attend our assembly to wash their hands or use sanitizers. Please practice social distancing (6 feet distance), and we strongly recommend the wearing of masks and gloves (disposable gloves will be available for those who need them). Avoid close contact with others. In the auditorium families should sit together. Parents, please keep your small children with you at all times for their own protection against contracting an illness. For the sake of your safety, we ask that the pew in front and in back of you be empty. If you are sitting on the pew and are not family, allow 6 feet between you and other people. We will have chairs set up in the auditorium at a proper distance to allow for social distancing.
2.MAY 10: We will add Sunday afternoon worship at 1:00 PM. The guidelines for Sunday morning will apply.
3.MAY 17: We will add Bible classes. Do observe social distancing. POSTPONED UNTIL MAY 24
4.MAY 20: Resume Wednesday Bible classes. Of course, social distancing remains mandatory. We want everyone to be safe. Parents can decide for their families whether to come to Bible classes or not. Social distancing (6 feet apart) is requested for all those attending worship or classes. POSTPONED UNTIL MAY 27
We continue to trust God during the coronavirus pandemic. Remember, God is in control of all things. He has promised to provide our every need and to deliver us from all evil. We know that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. It is in trying times such as these that we have the opportunity to demonstrate our faith to others unto the glory of God. Psalms 92:2 “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him I trust.”
God bless us all, THE ELDERS
