Brotherhood Door Knocking Day — Somebody Needs to Go!
Dear Northwest Family,
We are excited to announce that Brotherhood Door Knocking Day is coming Saturday, September 19! On this special day, Christians across the United States and around the world will make a concerted effort to reach out to those who are lost and to share the Gospel with people in their communities.
Here at Northwest, we are preparing for a great day of evangelism and outreach. We have already mailed a special issue of House to House/Heart to Heart to approximately 5,000 homes in the Lake Worth area. On September 19, we will be going door to door in these neighborhoods, seeking opportunities to meet our neighbors and share the message of Christ.
But door knocking will not be our only outreach. We will also have a Bread and Bible Giveaway at the entrances to our parking lot, and teams will go into area parks with bottled water as we look for opportunities to meet and encourage others.
Everyone Can Help!
There is something everyone can do to help make this effort successful. We need:
Those who will come and pray for the effort and the souls we hope to reach.
Those who will prepare materials, make signs, and set up tables.
Those who will greet our neighbors at the doors and in the parks.
Those who will go out and assist others in sharing the Gospel.
Those who will help serve at the Bread and Bible Giveaway.
You do not have to be an experienced evangelist to be involved. We simply need willing hearts and people who are ready to say, “Here am I! Send me.” Special Preparation Day — Sunday, September 6 To help prepare us for this important effort, we will have special services this Sunday, September 6.
9:00 a.m. — Bible Class All adults and teens will meet together in the auditorium. We will study biblical principles and practical applications for door knocking, park evangelism, and the Bread and Bible Giveaway.
10:00 a.m. — Worship Our sermon will come from Isaiah 6:1–8 and is entitled “Somebody Needs to Go.” Isaiah's response to God's call--“Here am I! Send me”—challenges each of us to consider our own responsibility to reach those who need the Gospel.
5:00 p.m. — Panel Discussion We will have a panel discussion addressing questions about door knocking, park evangelism, and the Bread and Bible Giveaway. Everyone is encouraged to submit questions in the designated box located at the Welcome Desk.
Evangelism Training — September 8 & 10 We will also have two special learning sessions designed to give us practical instruction and opportunities for role-playing as we prepare to reach out to others.
Tuesday, September 8 — 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10 — 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is encouraged to participate. These sessions will help us become more comfortable and confident as we approach people and look for opportunities to share the Gospel.
Somebody Needs to Go We are praying that this will be more than simply a successful event. We are praying that lives will be touched, doors will be opened, and souls will be brought closer to Christ.
Every person matters. Every conversation matters. Every open door is an opportunity.
Please begin praying now about who you might meet, what opportunity God may give you, and how you can be involved.
Let's answer the call together: “Here am I! Send me.” — Isaiah 6:8
We look forward to seeing our entire Northwest family involved in this great effort for the saving of souls and to the glory of God! In Christ, The Northwest Elders
